Male Bald Eagle Coming In Fast!

Calgary Alberta Bald Eagle Up Close & Personal!

Wildlife & nature photography can be hazardous to your health! Was a little too close to this male bald eagle eagle in Calgary's Fish Creek provincial park when he decided to let me know...

He scared off 5 crows, then banked and came in low at me! I got off about 6 good in focus photos of him before I ran for cover and kept going just like those pesky crows!

For more birds of prey photos, check my raptor gallery!

A little resting chickadee

A Still Chickadee.

Probably 50% of my nature hikes I see these little birds and have to photograph them!

I have plenty of chickadee photos, but here is a more recent shot taken deep in the woods.

Male Wood Duck In Flight

Wood Duck In-Flight Picture.

This male wood duck was captured in flight with fall colours for a background. Great evening light helped produce these and of course the leaves of late September.

Hawk owl just before catching a mouse

Wildlife IS A Northern Hawk Owl Coming In For The Kill.

This photograph of a northern hawk owl just about to make a kill on a mouse.

A second or two later, he is photographed carrying off the prey in his talons.

Coyote up close and personal

Nature & Wildlife In Kananaskis Valley Alberta.

Lots of wildlife can be seen in the valley, this shaggy looking coyote was spotted as well as moose, mountain sheep and host of others. Keep an eye out for bears and cougars too.

Photo of a male Kestrel sitting on a fence.

Male Kestrel Photographed while Having a Rest On A Fence.

I love these little falcons, and the male kestrel is very colourful as can be seen here.

This photograph was taken on an overcast day. I noticed this bird of prey moving along the fence posts in search of mice. He stopped long enough to get his portrait taken.

Barred owl deep in the forest.

Barred Owl Hidden Deep In The Forest.

About 75 yards in from the forests edge, this large owl was spotted. His dark eyes looked menacing. Photographed on bright sunny day in March.

I love trying to find and photograph owls and have added a few more mug shots below.

Fly fishing photography and a brown trout on the fly.

Fly Fishing Photography Calgary Alberta.

A quick fly fishing outing to the Bow River in Calgary with my friend Dan Jackson. Dan showing me the ropes on the "how to fish the Bow River" in Calgary produced this photo of a nice brown trout hitting the fly.
