Storm front moving through southern Alberta in black and white
I am still amazed, in awe of the Leica M mount glass. A tried and true Nikon guy, I thought there was noting else out there in terms of glass quality and sharpness, man was I wrong! Continue Reading →
Small (compared to what I am used to) compact, these lenses are like jewelry and deliver unequaled sharpness. Here is a test shot of that damn cat (perfect test subject) from tonight looking out the window at the falling snow flakes with a newly acquired Leica Summicron 50mm lens on the Leica M9 shot wide open.
Still messing around with film and loving it! This shot is with my Voigtlander R3m and Kodak Tmax 400 film + the one sharp Leica 75mm lens shot wide open. There is nothing like the tones and dynamic range of black and white film, especially Tmax film
Self developed in the basement washroom with Ilford DDX.
I love shooting available light, especially with the Leica M9.
Sony NEX-7 can shoot action, and action it is on a fast moving snowy owl! A little different than my normal type shots of birds of prey, but I like it. Continue Reading →
Finally, picked up my Sony NEX7 yesterday, wow, what an awesome camera! 24.3 meg pixels, can pop 10 frames per second out and shoots amazing video, woohoo! Can’t wait to try my Leica glass on it
Photo taken with Leics M9 and 28mm Elmarit lens wide open.
There is really something about film that make my jaw drop. The highlight and shadow detail are amazing. This nude photo was taken with natural window light streaming in and a large format film camera, a vintage 4×5 Calumet that I really should post in the gear section.
Last auto photo, I promise! I Just wanted to show that amazing 3D effect you can get. I am loving my Leica M9 so much I haven’t picked up much else. Its compact, way easier to carry it and 3 lenses around than a DSLR, and the images coming out of it are unreal! Another shot taken at the car show World Of Wheels here in Calgary that I had a chance to shoot before it opened its doors to the public.
These buildings are backlit, but the building across the street from them bounced some cool light reflections onto the street and the pub. Must get a beer there.
Wedding photographer, maybe? Another shot of the happy couple photographed on a blustery day just outside Calgary.
Wow, what a stunning couple! An engagement photo shoot here in the Rocky Mountains, Kananaskis to be exact with the awesomely talented Sarah Byrne hair and make-up. It was a wicked day, some rain, lots of cool clouds and strong winds. Made for some interesting and dramatic photos for sure, more to come…
